World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure what will be improved after a reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste a lot of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally item upgrading will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
